Festive Fourth of July Crafts

ButtonsWith the Fourth of July just a month away, it’s time to start some great holiday inspired crafts! Here are some of our favorite button and lace crafts to celebrate Independence Day with.

Red, White and Blue Button Bracelets

Looking for a fun, simple craft to do with the kids? Try these red, white and blue button bracelets from Dandee Designs. Only two materials are needed; buttons and clear elastic beading cord. This is a great, simple craft that kids will love to make and wear to celebrate the Fourth! Click here for instructions.

Ribbon and Lace Flag

This beautiful American flag design from Craftiments is a creative and patriotic way to use old scraps of lace, ribbon and fabric. Use strips of white lace, red ribbon, and a rectangle of blue denim to put together this creative flag. Sew or hot glue white buttons to the denim to represent the 50 stars! Hang from a dowel and you’re all done. Click here for further instructions.

Button and Bead Patriotic Jars

To make a cute jar of stars to celebrate Independence Day, use a recycled glass jar, buttons, beads, fabric or wooden stars and twine, ribbon or lace. Once you have cleaned out your jar, wrap it with the fabric of your choice. Wait Til Your Father Gets Home uses twine, but we suggest using a thick lace or red and blue ribbon for a brighter, more festive look!

Next, wrap a layer of red, white and blue buttons or beads around the jar. Finally, make your stars! Use a hot glue gun to apply fabric or wooden stars to small dowels. Decorate the stars with fabric, buttons and beads. Place them in your jar and you have a beautiful and patriotic Fourth of July centerpiece! Click here for further instructions.
